Lake Toba: snippets

Good morning from Lake Toba! Patiently waiting for my morning tea after an early rise at the crack of dawn to watch the sun rise. Well worth the wake when you get to observe but not intrude on the locals going about their morning routine, not to mention avoiding the tourists.

The train ride from Medan was an experience; business class on outlying Indonesia rail networks leaves very, very much to be desired. However, the taxi ride to Lake Toba was truly a sight.

More exploration coming up: a few churches, waterfalls and the ruins of a kingdom, among other things.
